McElroy Rites
to Be Friday
at Rudd Church

NORA SPRINGS, IOWA - Funeral services for Mrs. S. A. McElroy, 72, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the Rudd Methodist Church. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Rockford, with the Sheckler Funeral Home, Nora Springs, in charge. The Rev. Charles Garland, Mimauma, Florida, formerly of Rudd, will be assisted by the Rev. C. L. Oelfke, Rudd.

She died Tuesday at her farm home four miles northeast of Rudd. She had been in failing health, for many years and had suffered a stroke on Saturday.

Mrs. McElroy, the former Clara Whitney, was born on February 13, 1885, in Ulster Township, Floyd county, Iowa, a daughter of Sereno and Mary Halstead Whitney. When she was three, she moved with her parents to Rockford where she lived until her marriage to Samuel Arthur McElroy on October 1, 1903.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Gerald McElroy, Palatine, Illinois; five grandchildren and two sisters, Miss Hattie Whitney, Waterloo, and Mrs. Janey Gleason, Whittier, Illinois.

A daughter, Mrs. Alva (Gladys) Gray, preceded her in death.
