BETTY BARBARA BEHNE

NORA SPRINGS, IOWA - Betty Barbara Behne, 75, of Nora Springs, died Monday (Nov. 1, 1999) at the Nora Springs Care Center.

Funeral services will held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Sheckler Colonial Chapel, 114 N. Hawkeye, Nora Springs, with the Rev. Ruth Hansen from St. Luke's Lutheran Church of Nora Springs, officiating. Burial will be in the Park Cemetery, in Nora Springs.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday and one hour prior to service time on Friday at the chapel.

Betty Barbara Behne was born on March 27, 1924, in Nora Springs, the daughter of Carl and Marion (Bright) Behne. She attended and received her education in the Nora Springs School System, graduating from Nora Springs High School. After completing her schooling she worked as a housekeeper for a few years in Nora Springs.

Betty lived with her parents on the family farm until 1987 when she became a resident of the Maple View Manor in Nora Springs and then became a resident of the Nora Springs Care Center.

She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, crafts, yard work and she also was a hard worker.

She was a member of the St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Nora Springs.

Left to cherish her memory are two brothers, Ronald Behme and his wife, Janyce, of Nora Springs, and Roger Behne and his wife, Merle, of Schurtz, Texas; several nieces and nephews, as well as other relatives and friends.

Her parents and a sister, Phyllis Oeltjenbrun, preceded her in death.
