NELLIE M. MORSE

CHARLES CITY - Nellie M. Morse, 85, of 3 Mohawk Circle, Madison Wis., and a former Charles City resident, died Saturday morning (March 20, 1999) at Mt. Horeb, Wis.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Charles City, with the Rev. Stanley Hayek officiating. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery.

Visitation will begin after 2 p.m. and be held until 8 p.m. today at the Fullerton Hage Funeral Home, 401 Blunt St., Charles City, with a 4 p.m. Scripture service. There will be further visitation one hour prior to services at the church.

Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the Alzheimer's Association in Nellie's name.

Nellie was born on April 6, 1913, at New Hampton, Iowa, one of five children of Ole and Anna "Johnson" Hereid. She graduated from Charles City High School in 1931 and then worked as a bookkeeper at the Cedar Valley Hospital for several years.

She was united in marriage to Arnold Howard Morse and to this union were born two sons. In October 1970, her beloved husband, Arnold preceded her in death.

She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Rosary Society.

She lived her life in Charles City until the last five years, when she moved closer to her son.

Nellie's life was shared by her two sons, Ronald and his wife, Joyce Morse, Madison; and Allen and his wife, Beatrice Morse, of Oxnard, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Myrtle Spurbeck, of Charles City, several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold; three sisters, Charlene Woodhouse, Tomena Guthart, and Olive Hereid; one brother, Orlin Hereid.
