at Charles CityCHARLES CITY, IOWA — Funeral services were held Thursday at 9 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church for Louis Kirsch, 71, a resident of 902 Waller St., who died Tuesday afternoon at his home after being in failing health for the past three months.
A lifetime resident of this community, he had been employed at the Oliver Corporation for many years. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church, the Knights of Columbus, and the Holy Name Society. He was also a Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus.
The Rev. Joseph J. Slepicka officiated and burial was in Calvary Cemetery.
He was born February 23, 1887, in Pleasant Grove Township, Floyd County, Iowa, the son of Mathew and Johanna Kirsch. He married Eva Wolf, May 1, 1917, at Roseville.
He is survived by his wife; five daughters and one son: Mrs. John McGee, Davenport; Mrs. Roy De- Bakey, Des Moines: Robert Kirsch, Charles City; Mrs. Robert Havlik, Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Robert Ford, Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Robert McKane, Atlantic; sixteen grandchildren, two sisters and two brothers: Mrs. Margaret Carey, Charles City; Mrs. Charles Hurd, Greene; John Kirsch, Charles City and Matt Kirsch, Greene.
