VicinityNORA SPRINGS, IOWA — Funeral services for Mrs. Lavina Rader, 90, were held Saturday afternoon at the Methodist church with the Reverend Clarence Dwight James in charge. Burial was in Rock Grove Cemetery.
Mrs. Rader came when a small child to Rock Grove and the Hardman family was one of the early pioneer families of Rock Grove Township.
In 1863 she was married to Alfred Rader. To this union two children, James F. and Calla, were born. Both were with her at the time of her death. Her husband died in 1915. For the past 17 years she had made her home with her nephew, Darrell Ellis and family.
She is survived by a son, James F., of Nora Springs; a daughter, Calla, now Mrs. Joe Warburton [sp?] of Spokane, Washington; a brother, George Hardman of Rockwell; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Rock Grove Cemetery is one mile east and one mile south of Nora Springs and is a part of the original Hardman homestead where Mrs. Rader and her brothers and sisters were reared.
