EVELYN P. LOSEE

MASON CITY - Evelyn P. Losee, 74, of 929 16th St. N.E., died Tuesday (June 29, 1999) at her home.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 213 N. Pennsylvania Ave., with the Rev. Arne C. Bergland officiating. Interment will be in the Hillside Cemetery, Marble Rock, Floyd county, Iowa.

There will be no visitation, her body was cremated at Major-Erickson Funeral Home and Crematory, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave.

The family suggests memorials to the Evelyn P. Losee Memorial Fund.

Evelyn P. Losee was born March 20, 1925, the daughter of Edward and Amelia (Lippert) Bartels in Ute. Evelyn attended school in Graettinger, and she then moved with her family to Charles City. Evelyn married Earl Losee in Charles City. They lived in Sheffield, Algona and Rockwell. Evelyn also helped her husband run the locker in Rockwell. She then worked as a unit secretary at North Iowa Mercy Health Center for 18 years, retiring in 1995. Earl and Evelyn moved to Mason City in 1991. Evelyn enjoyed gardening and flowers and traveling to see her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed collecting Precious Moments. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.

Survivors include her husband, Earl R. Losee, Mason City; three daughters, Carolyn Uhlenhake, Urbandale, Diane Fortsch, Weatherford, Texas, and Tamara Petermeier and husband, Mark, Weatherford, Texas; two sons, Earl Dean Losee and wife, Cindy, Nixa, Missouri, and Michael Losee of Mason City; 12 grandchildren, Trent, Travis, Tracy, Corey, Peter, Molly, Toby, Sarah, Brian, Austin, Tyler and Joshua; five great-grandchildren, Shayna, Spencer, Chelsea, Jenna and Hanna; two sisters, Alice Ogle and husband, Lloyd, of Evansdale, and Pauline Shave of Charles City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Marilyn; a son in infancy, Roger; a granddaughter, Katie; and a brother, Edgar.
