NORA SPRINGS, IOWA - August B. "Bob" Stiller, 92, of 118 S. Hawkeye, died Friday, June 11, 1999, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at St. Luke Lutheran Church, Nora Springs, with the Rev. Ruth Hansen officiating. Burial will be in Park Cemetery, Nora Springs.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Sheckler Colonial Chapel, 114 N. Hawkeye, and will continue one hour prior to services on Monday at the church.

August B. "Bob" Stiller was born Sept. 21, 1906, in Minneapolis, the youngest son of Herman and Lena (Bradski) Stiller. He attended country school in Luck, Wis.

On Jan. 16, 1935, he was united in marriage to Esther Weaverling at the Methodist Parsonage in Nora Springs.

Together they farmed in Rudd, then Osage and finally in Nora Springs for many years. August retired in 1973, and he and Esther moved into town. Together, they enjoyed fishing, camping and playing cards with friends.

August became a member of the St. Luke Lutheran Church, Nora Springs, in the 1960s. He and Esther also belonged to the Wig Wam Wagon Club and several square dancing clubs.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Esther Stiller, Nora Springs; three children, June Merriss and her husband, Richard, Rockford, Wesley Stiller and his wife, Kay, Rudd, and Patty Holtz and her husband, Dennis, Rudd; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Waters, Nora Springs; one special nephew, Jule Rieman and his wife, Gilsea, Osage; and many other nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one brother.
