GREENE — Funeral services for Lodema E. Green, 95, of Jacksonville, Fla., formerly of Greene, will be at 2 p.m. today at Reid's Funeral Chapel, in Greene, with Pastor Lance Kittleson of St. Peter Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery, in Greene.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services today at the Funeral Chapel.
Lodema Eileen Green was born Feb. 19, 1903, in rural Scott Township, Floyd County, a daughter of Emil A. and Minnie (Foltz) Uker and died Sunday (Jan. 10, 1999) at Palemon-Gaskin Nursing Home in Ocilla, Ga.
She received her education in the rural schools and graduated from the Greene High School. As a young lady she worked in Mason City, and following her marriage to Thomas C. Green, they moved to Burlington, where she was employed at the Ordinance Plant there.
Mr. and Mrs. Greene moved to Arlington Park, Jacksonville, Florida, in 1965. Mr. Green died in April of 1978. In later years, she lived near her family in Fitzgerald, Georgia.
Living family members include a daughter-in-law, Dorothy Green-Tison, of Fitzgerald, Ga.; four grandchildren, Kevin C. and his wife, Doreen Green, Jessica and her husband, Michael Sulatycki, Alan Green and Cathi Hull; three great-grandchildren; three nieces, Caroline Schafer, of Dougherty, Elaine Miller, of Cherokee, Ark., and Elsie Schafer, of Waterloo; and one nephew, Robert and his wife, Kay Schafer, of Dougherty.
She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Thomas C. Green Jr. in 1982; her parents; two sisters, Goldie Schafer and Sylvia Emry; and two nephews, Merlyn Schafer and Roger Schafer.
