Lucille was born June 17, 1919, the daughter of Jacob and Anna (Brehmer) Schubert in Corwith. She later attended and graduated from Corwith High School. On July 1, 1940, Lucille was united in marriage to Gene A. Shipman.
Lucille was a very active member of the Rudd United Methodist Church where she was also involved in the Dorcas Circle. Lucille loved to do crafts and other things with her hands like needlepoint, gardening and planting her special flowers. She was also continuously baking cookies and cleaning her house.
Lucille enjoyed collecting her Precious Moments, and watching and feeding the birds. She enjoyed passing the time with a good book or playing cards with her friends. But the diamonds of her eyes were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Those thankful for having shared her life include two daughters, Jodell and her husband, Larry Schlotterbeck of Centerville, Ohio, and Dianne and her husband, Maury Dieterich of Shelby Township, Mich.; one daughter-in-law, Ginger Shipman of Nora Springs; two sisters, Bernice and her husband, Kenneth Gregson, of Mason City, and Marcella and her husband, Warren Wignall, of Marshalltown; seven grandchildren, Allison Kruse, Stacey and Corey Shipman, Troy Schlotterbeck, Traci Radcliffe, Nathan and Nikolas Dieterich; and five great-grandchildren, Leo, Roni and Ralee Kruse, and Kayla and Maggie Shipman; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Shipman was preceded in death by her husband, Gene, in 1989; and one son, Ron Shipman.
