CHARLES CITY, IOWA — Hommo Hector, 81, of 73 Cedar Terrace South, died Friday (Oct. 2, 1998) at the New Hampton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, New Hampton.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Hauser Funeral Home, 1205 S. Main St., Charles City, with the Rev. Dennis D. Niezwaag, pastor of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyside Memory Gardens, south of Charles City.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Hauser Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. until time of services on Monday.

Memorials may be directed to the Hospice of North Iowa, Charles City, in his memory.

Hommo Hector was born May 11, 1917, at Allison.

Survivors include one daughter, Sharon VanHauen, of Charles City; one grandson, and two great-granddaughters.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one son, one brother, and one grandson.

Survivors include a daughter, Sharon VanHauen of Charles City; a grandson; and two great-granddaughters.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Jean, in 1991; a son, Jerry Lee; a grandson; and a brother, Herman.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Hauser Funeral Home, Charles City, with burial in Sunnyside Memory Gardens, south of Charles City; friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. Monday until services at the funeral home memorials may be directed to Hospice of North Iowa, Charles City; Mr. Hector had farmed, worked for Oliver Corp., Adrian Implement Co., and was a bartender at Ray's Pastime and the Union House.
