Etoile Jeanette Gwynne-Berry
NORA SPRINGS, IOWA - Mrs. Etoile Jeannette Gwynne-Berry, 87, of Nora Springs, formerly of Waco, Texas, entered into the Lord's eternal rest on Friday, September 10, 2010.
Born to B.F. and Nellie Mae Sanders in Waco, Texas, on December 10, 1922, she graduated from Waco High School in 1940. She married Kenneth J. Gwynne, a career military man in September 1941. They had four children and are survived by Duana Sikes and Leonard Gwynne, of Houston, Texas, and Manon Brua, of Nora Springs. She had six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by oldest son, Olin K. Gwynne in 1984 and her first husband Kenneth, in 2000.
In 2002, she was remarried to E.W. Berry Jr., of Morgans Point Resort, Texas, who passed away in 2006. She and first husband, Kenneth, who having retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1958, and having had a subsequent 20 year career as an educator, turned to a career in art. They enjoyed doing a variety of custom artwork and creating original jewelry items in their own business, "Platemaster." They were married for 60 wonderful years.
Etoile truly loved the Lord and attending church with her friends. She also enjoyed many different things in life and among her loves were, the color purple, butterflies, cooking, baking and being a homemaker, as well as bird watching and her parakeet, Coby. Most of all, she derived her greatest joy from people.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Plymouth Bible Baptist Church, 808 Broad Street, Plymouth, IA 50467.
