Wanda M. Cummings, 90, of Charles City, died Thursday morning, September 2, 2010, at the Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City.

Funeral services for Wanda Cummings will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Charles City. Pastor Martha Bennett of the Floyd Grace United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Sunnyside Memory Gardens, rural Charles City.

Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and after 9 a.m. at the church on Tuesday.

Wanda Mae Kemp was born January 10, 1920, in Rudd, the daughter of Charles and Erma (Warren) Kemp. She attended the Rudd, Floyd and Colwell Community Schools. On June 3, 1936, Wanda was united in marriage to Lester Cummings in Charles City. For 38 years she was a farm wife in the Bassett area. She was a member of the Floyd Grace United Methodist Church and several card clubs. Her interests included playing cards, raising chickens and baking.

Living family members include her daughter, Carol (Ron) Boggess of Floyd; 11 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 15 great-great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Nona Cummings of Charles City; brother, Jack Kemp of San Diego, Calif.; sister-in-law, Mary Manning of Charles City; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, on July 20, 2001; son, Ron Cummings; daughter, Marilyn Hall; son-in-law, Bill Hall; two grandsons, Kevin Boggess and Rodney Hall; and two brothers, Lowell and Ollen Kemp.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
