CHARLES CITY, IOWA — Howard C. Thoman, 76, of 907 Hildreth St., Charles City, died Thursday (Feb. 12, 1998) at the Ninth St. Chautauqua Guest Home.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Charles City, with the Monsignor Stanley J. Hayek, officiating. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Charles City Ceremonial Unit.

Visitation will be held from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Hauser Funeral Home, 1205 S. Main St., Charles City, with a 3:30 p.m. Rosary by St. Mary’s Circle and a parish Vigil Scriptural wake service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue on Monday morning one hour prior to services at the church.

Howard Charles Thoman was born June 18, 1921 at Calmar.

Survivors include his wife, Lois, of Charles City; two sons, Larry Thoman, Sioux City, and Michael Thoman, Dewey, Ariz.; six grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his stepmother, and one stepsister.

Memorials may be directed to the Am. Parkinson’s Disease Association or the Hospice of North Iowa, Charles City.
