Mrs. Susie Palmer
Rites Held Monday

Funeral services for Mrs. Vern Palmer were held here Monday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at First Methodist Church, with the Rev. George Baker officiating. Mrs. Charles Clark was organist; and Earl Houdek, vocalist.

Casket bearers were Donald Warford, Wallace Ginther, Dave Maupin, Gene Crowell, Glenn Crowell and Ealdor Hengesteg.

Interment was at Riverside cemetery, Rockford, with Weavers in charge. Rebekah Rites were held at the grave side.

A prayer service was held in Alvin June 6, at the Froberg Funeral Home.

Susie B. Palmer, youngest daughter of Mrs. and Mrs. Stewart Warren of Spring Valley, Minn., was born December 19, 1883, at Spring Valley. She was united in marriage to Vern B. Palmer in May 1904. They made their home in Waterloo until moving to Rockford in 1907, where Mr. Palmer was employed by the E.W. Kluckhohn Hardware.

Mrs. Palmer passed away June 5, 1963 at the home of her son, Don Palmer at Alvin, Texas.

Four children survive her: Beulah Green Sypolt of Hollywood, Florida; June Tenney Plath of Mason City, Iowa; Don V. Palmer of Alvin, Texas; and Ray H. Palmer or Dickinson, Texas. There are 19 grandchildren and 47 great grandchildren. Also many other relatives and friends. Mr. Palmer preceded his wife in death several years ago.

Mrs. Palmer taught school in Minnesota before her marriage. She was a Rebekah Lodge member of over 50 years and received her 50-year pin in Florida.

Grandchildren who came from away to attend the funeral were: Mrs. and Mrs. Keith D. Palmer of Newport News, Va.; Mrs. Robert King of Charleston, W. Va.; Mr. and Mrs. Don Warford and three sons of Kenosha, Wisc.; Mrs. Harold Shaffer and three daughters of Almeda, Calif.; Mrs. and Mrs. Bill Jongeward and three children of Madison, So., Dak.; Mr. Terry L. Palmer of Alvin, Texas; Mr. and Mrs. Duane Rowe and two children of Dickens, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Eldor Hengesteg and four children of Northwood, Iowa; Miss Joy Tenney of Mason City, Iowa.
