Burdette O. Baldwin

CHARLES CITY, IOWA — Burdette O. "Burt" Baldwin, 80, of Charles City, formerly of Nashua, died Friday (Nov. 20, 1998) at North Iowa Mercy Health Center East, Mason City.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Stanley J. Hayek officiating. Burial will be in the Sunnyside Memory Gardens with graveside military honors conducted by the American Legion Fischer Thompson Post #153 and the VFW Post #6792 of Nashua.

Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. Monday at the Fullerton Hage Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. The Rosary Society and St. Theresa's Circle will recite the rosary at 3 p.m., and there will be a scriptural wake service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the funeral Mass on Tuesday at the church.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann of Charles City; two children, James C. Baldwin of Waterloo, and Kim Baldwin of Charles City; seven step-children, Sandra Kirchhof of Red Wing, Minn., Margaret Hoyt of Davenport, Jean Lytle of Lakewood, Colo., Steven Hebert of Madrid, David Hebert of Ankeny, Sara Ioens of Dunkerton, and Michael Hebert of Clovis, N.M.; three brothers, Willis Baldwin of Charles City, Clark Baldwin of Greeley, Colo., and Dwight Baldwin; two sisters, Lois Newman of Charles City, and Helen Hirsch of Rockwell; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and 23 step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, and a stepson.

He was found in 1940 census living in ward 2 of Charles City, Iowa, with wife Josephine and son James.
