ROCKFORD, IOWA — Glenn M. Hall, 86, of 111 First Avenue S.E., died Wednesday (Dec. 23, 1998) at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Fullerton Schumburg Funeral Home, 302 W. Main, Rockford, with the Rev. Kathy Graves, chaplain of Hospice of North Iowa, officiating. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery, Rockford.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today with the family greeting friends from 4 to 6 p.m.

Glenn was born on Nov. 19, 1912, at Oster Township in Floyd County, the son of John Elmer and Matilda Mae (Warren) Hall. He graduated from Rockford High School and then drove his truck on long-haul routes until his retirement in November of 1977. He meticulously maintained his trucks and was very proud that he never had an accident in all his years of driving.

Glenn was united in marriage to Lorraine L. Griggs on Oct. 9, 1933, at Ottumwa, Minn., and to this marriage was born one daughter.

In his off time, Glenn enjoyed traveling and staying in Florida, Arizona and Texas. He also loved fishing with his family at Hayward, Minn. He enjoyed the challenges of doing bookwork and taxes accurately and playing games with his grandchildren. He was a member of the Rockford United Methodist Church and a former member of the Mason City Moose Lodge.

Glenn leaves his wife of 65 years, Lorraine, of Rockford; his daughter, Deloris and her husband, Orlando Lindley, of Nora Springs; three grandchildren, Tami Lindley of Altoona, David and his wife, Deb Lindley, of Rockford, Scot and Joanna Lindley of Nora Springs; three great-grandchildren; and his sister, Myrtle Kuhlemeier, Clear Lake.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Roger, Earl and an infant brother, Gilbert; and one sister, Iola Greenswag.
