CHARLES CITY -Orme M. Wiltse Jr., 71, of Charles City, died Wednesday evening (June 16, 2010) at the Floyd County Medical Center.

Funeral services for Orme Wiltse Jr. will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday at Saint John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Charles City, with Pastor Jane Keel, of Messiah Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyside Memory Gardens, rural Charles City, with Military Honors by the Charles City Ceremonial Unit.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, at Hauser Funeral Home, 1205 S. Main in Charles City. Visitation will continue an hour before the service on Monday.

Orme Merten Wiltse Jr., was born Feb. 7, 1939, in Floyd County, the son of Orme and Viola (Freebury) Wiltse Sr. He attended Charles City High School.

On July 23, 1960, he was united in marriage to Loretta Jean Whitmarsh at Lyle, Minn. Orme served in the Army from 1962 to 1964. He was employed by the Department of Transportation for over 30 years.

Orme was a member of Saint John Evangelical Lutheran Church and a lifetime member of the V.F.W. and American Legion.

His interests included driving his new car, fishing and asparagus and mushroom hunting. He loved to visit his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, morning coffee with his two sisters and spending time with his dogs and his wife, Lori.

Living family members include his wife, Loretta Wiltse, of Charles City; three sons, Richard Wiltse (Kathy Deel), of Colorado Springs, Colo., Randall (Minessa) Wiltse, of Charles City and Ryan Wiltse, of Charles City; two daughters, Deb (Randy) Aynes, of Middle Town and Renee (Reams) Smith of Keokuk; four grandchildren, Corrinne Nelson, Ashley Wiltse, Shane Wiltse and Tyler Wiltse; two great-grandchildren, Mikenna Wiltse and Payton Damjanovic; three sisters, Alice (Eldon) Beck, of Slidell, La., Ruth (Ken) Beckner, of Nashua and Mary (Don) Tumilson, of Charles City; three brothers, Bill (Sharon) Wiltse, of Niles, Mich., Bob (Cindy) Wiltse, of Charles City and Jerry (Jean) Wiltse, of Charles City; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
