MRS. K. STAUDTMrs. Peter Staudt, Sr. passed away at her home at 8:30 o'clock Friday evening, February 10, after a three day's illness. Reguiem high mass was read by Rev. P. Kirchoff at 9:00 o'clock a.m. Monday, February 13, at the St. Mary's Catholic Church, Roseville.
Acolytes were twin grandsons, Donald and Donovan Staudt. also two other grandsons, Roger and Leo Staudt, Jr. Bearers were the six sons of the deceased. Burial was in Roseville Cemetery.
Kathrine, daughter of John and Barbara Krapp, was born in Germany in 1871 and came to the United States with her parents when she was seven years of age. She was one of 13 children, two dying in infancy in Germany.
On November 4, 1893, she was married to Peter Staudt and has ever since lived on the farm where she died.
Six sons were born to this union, Leo of Marble Rock, George of Dougherty, Paul of Charles City, Dr. Carl of Stacyville and Earl and Clement of Marble Rock. She is also survived by three brothers and one sister: Paul of Buchanan, North Dakota; Nick of Rockwell; John of Rockford; and Mrs. Helena Ewald of Adams, Minnesota.
Mr. Staudt passed away January 24, 1935. A sister, Mrs. Mary Kechler, preceded her in death a year to the day on which Mrs. Staudt was stricken with her fatal illness.
Mrs. Staudt is also survived by eighteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
One grandson, Pfc. Morris Staudt, gave his life for his country on November 17, 1945.
Mrs. Staudt has been an active member of St. Mary's parish, also a member of the Rosary society and had enjoyed fairly good hearth until stricken February 7 with a fatal heart attack.
