Russell O'Connell

FLOYD, IOWA — Russell Virgil 0’Connell, 75, of Floyd, and a retired employee of White Farm Equipment Co., Charles City, died Thursday (May 23, 1985) at home.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church, Floyd, with the Rev. Charlotte Mallott officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyside Memory Gardens, Charles City. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at Sunnyside Chapel and Funeral Home, rural Charles City, and after 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Mr. O'Connell retired from White Farm in 1972 after 33 years with the company.

He was born February 18, 1910 in New Hampton, Iowa, to Henry and Ida (Tonn) O'Connell. On October 12, 1947, he married Lilith M. Miller at Nashua. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the 634 Tank Destroyers.

Mr. O'Connell was a member of the UIW, American Legion, UAW Retirees of Charles City and the Sixty Plus Club of Floyd.

Survivors include his wife, Lilith; two sons, Bradley D., Kasson, Minnesota; and Trevis K., Floyd; one granddaughter; two sisters. Regina Erickson, Nora Springs, and Janet Pugliese, Brevard, N.C., and one brother, Merle, Charles City.
