Succumbs After
Two Years' Illness

CHARLES CITY, IOWA - Mrs. Augusta Regel, 83, died Friday afternoon following an illness of two years. She was bedfast the two weeks. Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Grossman Funeral Home with the Rev. Walter Fritschel officiating and burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.

Mrs. Regel is survived by three children, Henry and Emil of Charles City, and a daughter, Clara Regel, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Researchers may want to spend some time checking the dates. They do not add up right.

The newspaper obituary clealy said the year was 1939 and that she was 83. 1939 minus 83 is 1856, not 1859.

The tombstone photo on findagrave.com was not legible and so it is not of help here. It would be best to visit the cemetery and verify the dates on the stone.
