ROBERT W. PAULUS

CHARLES CITY - Robert W. Paulus, 72, of 509 Fourth Ave., died Friday (Nov. 10, 2000) at Hospice of North Iowa's Muse Norris Inpatient Unit, Mason City.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. today at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Charles City, with the Monsignor Stanley J. Hayek, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. today in the Riverside Cemetery at Rockford.

Friends called Sunday at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City, where there was a vigil scriptural wake service. Visitation will continue from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the church today.

Robert William Paulus was born Dec. 17, 1927, at Rockford, the son of Bill and Alma (Casperson) Paulus. He received his education in the Rockford schools. He served in the Army in the Philippines from 1946 to 1947.

On Feb. 28, 1949, he and Lola Mae Worley were married at Rockford. He worked for the Farm Cooperative at Rockford for 37 years, retiring in 1989. They moved to Charles City in 1995.

He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Moose Lodge in Charles City. He was an avid outdoorsman and especially liked to fish.

Living family members include his wife, Lola, of Charles City; four daughters and their husbands, Jeannette (Mrs Gary) Schmitt of Rockwell, Jacque (Mrs. John ) Moffitt of Dysart, Laurie (Mrs. Gary) O'Connor and Bobbi (Mrs. Dan) Parcher, both of Rockford; five sons and their wives, Alvin and Marlene Paulus of Chilicothe, Mo., Patrick and Cathy Paulus of Plano, Texas, Michael and special friend, Laura Paulus of Charlotte, N.C., Tom and Nancy Paulus of Muscatine, and Jerry and Lisa Paulus of Rudd; 19 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Donna Koebrick of Charles City; and five brothers, Dale and Arlyn Paulus, both of Sedro Woolley, Wash., Dan Paulus of Renton, Wash., Calvin Paulus of Yakima, Wash., and Tommy Paulus of Mason City.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
