Mason City – Karen J. Jost, age 70, of Rock Falls, died Wednesday, May 5, 2010, at the Nora Springs Care and Rehabilitation Center.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday (May 8, 2010) at the Rock Falls Old Stone United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jim Turner officiating. Interment will be in the Rock Falls Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5:00 to 7:00 PM Friday (April 7, 2010) at the Rock Falls Old Stone United Methodist Church.

Memorials may be directed to the Karen J. Jost in care of the family.

NORA SPRINGS, IOWA - Karen J. Jost, 70, of Rock Falls, died Wednesday, May 5, 2010, at the Nora Springs Care and Rehabilitation Center.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 8, 2010, at the Rock Falls Old Stone United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jim Turner officiating. Interment will be in the Rock Falls Cemetery.

Visitation will be held 5 to 7 p.m. today, Friday, May 7, 2010, at the Rock Falls Old Stone United Methodist Church.

Memorials may be directed to the Karen J. Jost Memorial Fund or the Humane Society of North Iowa.

Karen was born March 13, 1940, in Floyd, Iowa, the daughter of Richard and Joyce (Stewart) Wilcox. She attended school in Floyd before graduating from Nora Springs High School in 1957. She worked for Mitchell County Memorial Hospital in Osage before her marriage to Leo Jost on June 17, 1961, at the Nora Springs Methodist Church. From this union came two sons, Kory and Lance. She helped her husband run Leo Jost Masonry for many years.

Karen was a homemaker and enjoyed taking care and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She always supported her children in all their activities.

She battled M.S. for many years and handled her progressive disability with grace and dignity.
She had fond memories of her trip to Saudi Arabia in 1994. She was a member of the Rock Falls Old Stone United Methodist Church.

Karen is survived by her husband of 48 years, Leo Jost; two children, Kory Jost of Landstuhl, Germany, Lance and wife Lori Jost, of Rock Falls; two grandchildren, Brittney and Lincoln of Rock Falls; brother, Robert and wife, Connie Wilcox, of Mason City; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and in-laws.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
