George J. 'Jimmy' Wilson

NORA SPRINGS - George J. "Jimmy" Wilson, 51, of Nora Springs, died Monday (Jan. 25, 1999) at the Nora Springs Care Center.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Sheckler Colonial Chapel, 114 N. Hawkeye St., Nora Springs, with the Rev. Paul Boostrom officiating. Burial will be in Spring Grove Cemetery, Nora Springs.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral chapel, and will continue on Thursday prior to services.

George "Jimmy" Wilson was born Aug. 4, 1947, in Nora Springs, son of George Alvin and Ruby Irene (Gallup) Wilson. Jimmy made many friends while attending school in Mason City and Floyd.

Jimmy enjoyed fishing with his father, listening to music and playing ball. He loved his dog, Payless.

Survivors include his mother, Ruby Wilson, of Nora Springs; two sisters, Shirley Sandy, of Mason City, and Margery Leake, of Nora Springs; his nieces and nephews, Jocee Kelly and her husband, Oscar, of Mason City, Jay Sandy and his wife, Shelly, of Sioux City, Joni Bachman and her husband, John, of Boone, Lori Botts and her husband, Eric, of Macomb, Illinois, Kathy Mahlstedt, and her husband, Ed, of Rockford, David Leake and his wife, Kim, of Nora Springs, and Amy Vosburg and her husband, Ryan, of Des Moines; and 20 great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father; one brother, Kenneth; one sister, Anne; a nephew; and a great-niece.
