C. Batterson rites Thursday at Nora Springs

NORA SPRINGS, IOWA — Charles Batterson, 85, died Monday at the Good Samaritan Home, Mason City, Iowa, where he had lived for seven years.

He had lived most of his life in Nora Springs where he operated a restaurant for many years. Later he was a night watchman at the Jacob E. Decker & Son packing plant in Mason City.

His wife, the former Anna Schnable, died in 1950. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Ad, and two sisters, Myrtie Reed and Mattie Moore.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Sheckler Funeral Home, Nora Springs. The Rev. Howard Eldrenkamp of the Methodist Church, Nora Springs, will officiate.

Burial will be in Park Cemetery, Nora Springs.
