Charles City, IowaFrances M. Hundt, 87, of Charles City, died Wednesday evening, February 24, 2010, at the 11th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City.
Pastor Debra Lincoln of the Jordan River and Colwell U.C.C. will officiate at services on Saturday. Burial will be in Sunnyside Memory Gardens, rural Charles City.
Frances Marie Hoblit was born July 23, 1922, at Nora Springs, the daughter of Harvey and Leola (Tatum) Hoblit. She graduated from the Rockford High School and on November 7, 1940, she was united in marriage to Joseph William Hundt.
Frances worked as a receptionist for Dr. Baltzell and also Dr. Max Johns. She spent her last years working as a receptionist for Morton Buildings until her retirement in 1984. Frances and Joe enjoyed spending winters in Texas with friends, camping and fishing on the Mississippi, playing cards and working crossword puzzles. She enjoyed Sunday morning coffee with her family and friends and enjoyed sharing her life stories with her grandchildren.
Living family members include her four children, Carol Kamm of Charles City, Bill (Linda) Hundt of Charles City, Laura (Robert) Bowman of Las Vegas, Nev. and Linda Gohr of Charles City; 11 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and a sister, Ida (Jack) Schloemer of Nashua.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son-in-law, John Kamm; and two sisters, Irma Warrington and Ona Maxwell.
