ROCKFORD, IOWA - Violet Evelyn Kuhlemeier, 90, formerly of RR #1, Rockford, died Thursday (Oct. 17, 2002) at Nora Springs Care Center in Nora Springs.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday at the Zion Lutheran Church in Rockford with the Rev. Patricia Shaw officiating. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Rockford. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of service on Monday at the Zion Lutheran Church, 805 E. Main Ave., Rockford.
Those planning an expression of sympathy may direct memorials to the Violet E. Kuhlemeier Memorial Fund.

ROCKFORD, IOWA - Violet Evelyn Kuhlemeier, 90, formerly of Rural Route 1, Rockford, died Thursday (Oct. 17, 2002) at Nora Springs Care Center, Nora Springs.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Zion Lutheran Church in Rockford with Rev. Patricia Shaw officiating. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Rockford.

Violet Evelyn Kuhlemeier was born June 9, 1912, in Clear Lake, the daughter of William and Alena (Schutz) Fisher, and the eighth of nine children. She married Forrest Kuhlemeier in 1941 and raised two daughters, Alice and Darlene.
Following her husband's death in 1951, Violet continued farming and was involved in numerous community activities. As a lifelong member of the Zion Lutheran Church of Rockford, she enjoyed the women of the church, church circle, quilting, and other church sponsored events. She was a Floyd County Chairman of the annual American Tuberculosis Society fund-raising events for many years. Violet loved gardening and raised prize-winning roses.
Violet was an extremely creative and talented women. She baked, decorated cakes, created holiday decorations, and had a beautiful singing voice. During her last several years at the Nora Springs Care Center, she took advantage of all the activities and was a social highlight for the residents and staff with her delightful sense of humor.
Violet is survived by two daughters, Alice Warburton, of Nora Springs, and Darlene Blake, of Des Moines and Athens, Greece; and nine grandchildren.
Violet was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Forrest; two sons, Edward Kuhlemeier, and Edward (Bob) Burke; four brothers, Alfred, John (Jack), Ervin, and Beverly; four sisters, Agnes (Dolly), Esther, Daisy, and Velma.
