Glendora L. Oudekerk
Glendora L. Oudekerk, 86, died Friday, February 20, 2004, at 11th Street Chautauqua. Services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2004, at 2 p.m. at Sunnyside Chapel. Visitation will be on Monday, Feb. 23, from 5 to 7 p.m. and on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until service at Sunnyside Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Sunnyside Memory Gardens.
Glendora Leona was born on January 20, 1918, in Republic, Iowa, the daughter of Otto and Bertha (Ferch) Schmidt. On July 3, 1937, Glendora was united in marriage to Harm Oudekerk at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa.
Glendora "Curly" was a cook at Club Iowa and other local restaurants and nursing homes for several years.
Survivors include a son, Donald (Barb) Oudekerk, Healy, Alaska; a daughter Kathryn Head, Charles City; eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren; a brother Willis (Helen) Schmidt, Charles City; sisters-in-law Lois Schmidt, Chico, Calif.; Dorothy Schmidt, Charles City; Margaret Schmidt, Cedar Rapids; Judy Schmidt, Cedar Rapids.
Glendora was preceded in death by her husband, Harm, on Nov., 1991; a twin sister, Lucille Roth; brothers Otto Jr., Melvin, Lloyd, Clarence, Harland, Larance and Raymond; and her parents Otto and Bertha Schmidt.
