Burr Junior Fisher

Burr Fisher, age 81, of Rogers (Arkansas), died February 6, 2010, at his home. He was born in Rockford, Iowa, on December 22, 1928, to the late Burr Edward and Dorothy (Thomas) Fisher.
He was a homebuilder, a true craftsman, and built 67 homes in Fayetteville, and built numerous in other areas.

Survivors include his children, DeeAnn Goodnow and husband Kirk of Broomfield, Colorado, Terri Carney and husband John of Memphis, Tennessee, Brad Fisher and wife Tammy of Rogers; brothers, Kenny Fisher of Iowa and Roy Fisher of Dover, sister Gail Austin of Iowa, four grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, June Fisher in 1982, and his second wife, Naomi** Fisher in 1999.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 9, 2010, at Benton County Memorial Park.

Arrangements are by Callison-Lough Funeral Home in downtown Rogers.

ROGERS, ARKANSAS - Burr J. Fisher, 81, of Rogers, Ark., Feb. 6, 2010, at his home.

He was born in Rockford, Iowa on Dec. 22, 1928, to the late Burr Edward and Dorothy (Thomas) Fisher. He worked with his father in the plumbing business in his younger years, also worked for Kelley Truckline of Nora Springs, was the town marshal/police officer and a volunteer firefighter/fire chief for the Town of Nora Springs.

Junior and his first wife June also owned and operated Fisher's Grocery Store. In 1977, they moved to Rogers, Arkansas. He was a homebuilder, a true craftsman and built 67 homes in Fayetteville and built numerous in other areas.

Survivors include his children, Dee Ann (Kirk) Goodnow, of Brighton, Colo., Terri (John) Carney of Lakeland, Tenn. and Brad (Tammy) Fisher of Rogers, Ark. Brothers, Kenneth (Lois) Fisher of Marble Rock, Iowa and Roy (Val) Fisher of Dover, Ark.; a sister, Gayle (George) Austin of Donnellson, Iowa; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, June Fisher in 1982; and his second wife Naomi Fisher in 1999; he was also preceded in death by his parents, stepmother Aola; sister/stepsister, Delores Quam and Marcene Shapley.

Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2010, at the Benton County Memorial Park in Rogers, Arkansas.
