Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 23, 1988 at Hauser Funeral Home, Charles City, Iowa, for Mayme H. Nims, 97, formerly of Floyd. Rev. Charlotte Mallott of Grace United Methodist Church, Floyd, officiated, and burial was in Rock Grove Cemetery, near Nora Springs. She died Thursday, Jan. 21, 1988 at a Charles City hospital.
She was born July 4, 1890 in Rock Grove Township, Floyd county, Iowa, to Thomas and Mary (Noble) Gast. She graduated from Rudd High School.
On Sept. 14, 1908 she married Max Nims near Rudd. She was a resident of Floyd county since 1952, and was a Justice of the Peace for 19 years. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Max; a daughter; a son; and three sisters.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Anton (Donna) Schmall of Charles City, Mrs. Donald (Nina) Pettit of Kenora, Ontario, Canada; and Mrs. Everett (Jaceil) Gisleson of Osage; 16 grandchidlren, 42 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
