NORA SPRINGS, IOWA - Jeannette L. Berg, 93, passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2010, at the Nora Springs Care Center in Nora Springs. Before moving to Nora Springs, Jeannette had lived in Chicago, Elgin, and Batavia, Illinois.

Favorite times for Jeannette were being with family and sharing meals together. Music and literature were also great joys for her. She often could be heard singing or humming a favorite tune or hymn.

Jeannette would like to be remembered as a devoted friend, loving mother and faithful Christian (raised in the Christian Science church and joined the Methodist Church as an adult.) A memorial service will be held at a later date in the Chicago area.

Jeannette is survived by her two daughters, Susan (Terry) Maulding, of Streamwood, Illinois, and Nancy (Dr. David) Miller, of Rockford, Iowa.

She had five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Jeannette was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Erling; and her parents, Earl and Elma Gilbertsen.
