Robert J. “Bob” Kolthoff

CHARLES CITY, Iowa - Robert J. “Bob” Kolthoff, 50, of 100 Spriggs St. in Charles City died suddenly on Thursday, January 31, 2008, at the Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 4, 2008 at Fullerton-Hage Funeral Home, 401 Blunt St., in Charles City, with Msgr. Stanley J. Hayek presiding. Interment will be in the New Hampton City Cemetery in New Hampton at 1:30 p.m.

Those wishing to extend memorials or expressions of sympathy may direct them to the family, in care of “Bob’s” mother, Arlene M. Kolthoff, 100 Spriggs St., Charles City, Iowa. Condolences, stories or thoughts may be sent to the family in the care of Fullerton Funeral Home on line at www.fullertonfh.com.

The family will greet friends and relatives from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Fullerton Funeral Home, 401 Blunt St. in Charles City.

Robert Joseph Kolthoff was born March 1, 1957, in New Hampton, Iowa, to Robert F. and Arlene M. (Cutsforth) Kolthoff. He attended school in Charles City, graduating from the Charles City High School. “Bob” as he was affectionately known by family and friends lived most all of his life in Charles City. Bob was employed with the Sherman Nursery in Charles City. His leisure time included participating in such activities as shooting pool, bowling and golf. Bob was an avid sports fan of both the Minnesota Vikings and the Minnesota Twins. He was very family oriented, kind and caring. Bob will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.

Those grateful for having had the privilege of sharing in Bob’s life are his mother, Arlene Kolthoff of Charles City; his brother, Cliff (Margie) Kolthoff of Cedar Rapids, IA; two sisters, Nancy (Tom) Brettman of Denver, IA and Patricia Long of New Hampton, IA. As well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and other relatives and friends that survive him.

Bob was preceded in death by his father, Robert F. Kolthoff; two sisters, Cheryl Lee Kolthoff and Helen Lee Kolthoff; a brother, John Kolthoff; his grandparents and a special friend, Diane Christie.
