CHARLES CITY, Iowa - Marlise A. Nott, 84, formerly of 613 7th Ave., Charles City, died Tuesday morning, (May 1, 2007) at the Cedar Health, ACC, Enterprise, formerly the Salsbury Baptist Home in Charles City.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday (May 5, 2007) at Fullerton-Hage Funeral Home, 401 Blunt St., in Charles City, with Pastor Phil Corr officiating. Interment will take place in Sunnyside Memory Gardens in Charles City.
The family will greet relatives and friends from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at Fullerton-Hage Funeral Home, in Charles City. The visitation will continue Saturday one hour prior to Marlise’s service at the funeral home. Those wishing to extend memorials or expressions of sympathy may direct them to the family, in care of Marlise’s daughter, Carol S. Munshower, 307 L. St., Charles City, IA 50616.
Marlise Alice Nott was born March 15, 1923 in rural Floyd County, Iowa to Henry C. and Alice E. (Krumrey) Meineke. She grew up in Floyd County, IA and attended school in the Charles City School system, graduating in 1941. On January 9, 1943 Marlise was united in marriage to William “Bill” J. Nott at the St. John’s Lutheran Parsonage in Charles City, IA. The couple moved to Charles City in 1958.
Marlise had been a homemaker most all of her life. She took great pride in providing for her family, and being a nurturing mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was very family oriented. Some of Marlise’s interests and leisure activities included crochet, especially of afghans, embroidery and sewing. Marlise would pass the time by watching her favorite soap operas’ on t.v. She also enjoyed cooking, canning and dancing.
Grateful for having had the privilege of sharing in Marlise’s life are her two daughters, Carol S. (Ron) Munshower and Debra L. (Vince) Rottinghaus, all of Charles City; four grandchildren, Wendy (Matt) Ross amd Mike (Tonia) Munshower, all of Charles City; Emily (Dustin) Hoeft of Blairstown, IA and Ben Rottinghaus of Charles City; five great grandchildren, Erica Ross, Danielle Ross, Samantha Ross, Sydney Ross and Tiffany Munshower. Marlise is also survived by a brother-in-law, Warren (Evelyn) Nott and two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Meineke and Nellie Meineke, all of Charles City.
Preceding Marlise in death are her parents, Henry C. and Alice E. Meineke; her husband William “Bill” J. Nott on March 5, 2005; two brothers, Virgil Meineke and Donald Meineke and a nephew, Rodney Meineke.
