A prayer service was held at tbe Hauser funeral home here Monday for Dr. Albert Kuntz, 76, who died Saturday at his home in St. Louis, Mo., following a heart attack.

He was head of the anatomy department of the University of St. Louis Medical School. Dr. Kuntz, who had once taught on the' faculty of the Charles City College, and later at the University of Iowa, had world wide recognition for research in his chosen field and had written several text books and scientific papers.

He is survived by his wife and one daughter, Mrs. Hollis Hamstra, San Rafael, Calif.

Achievements in the field of medicine have won high honors or a former Cresco man, Dr. Albert Kuntz. He is head of the anatomy department of the University of St. Louis school of medicine where he has been consulted on neuro-anatomical problems by surgeons from all over the world.

Dr. Kuntz was honored by establishment under auspices of the Phi Chi Medical Society of "the Albert Kuntz Lectureships and Awards." Dr. James C White, professor of surgery at Harvard Medical School, paid tribute to the former Cresco man in the first annual lectureship recently for research contributions to knowledge of the involuntary nervous system.
