NORA SPRINGS- Funeral services for William Garfield Estal, 79, were held April 5, in the Christian Church with the Sheekler Funeral Home in charge. The Reverend George Adkins, pastor of the Mason City Christian Church, officiated and interment was in Park Cemetery.
Born October 8, 1880, in Tama County, he was one of nine children of Daniel and Rosa (Dann) Estal.
His parents, two brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
He was married to Ida Tuffree at Green Mountain, Iowa, October 16, 1907. He followed the blacksmith's trade at Green Mountain, moved to Nora Springs in 1921 and operated a farm five miles north of here. In 1941, Mr. and Mrs. Estal bought an acreage on the east edge of Nora Springs and retired.
Surviving are his wife and four children, Loren Estal, Iowa Falls; Richard Estal, Mason City; Eugene Estal, Osage, and Mrs. Eugene (Losis) Cheney, Noris Springs. There are also eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two brothers. John Estal and Claude Estal; and three sisters, Mrs. Bert (Jesse) Cook, Mrs. Will (Lois) Murty, and Mrs. Lilliam Smith, all of Green Mountain.
