CHARLES CITY, IOWA - Mrs. Josephine Margaret Marzen, 91, of the Ninth Street Chautaugua Guest Home, formerly of 405 N Jackson, died Sunday (May 7, 1989) at the home of natural causes.

Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Church, Highway 18 and Clark, with the Rev. James Koenigsfield and the Rev. Edward Petty officiating. Burial will be St. Mary's Cemetery, Roseville.

Visitation will be after 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Hage Funeral Home, 401 Blunt, Charles City. A Madonna Circle rosary will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home and a parish scripture service, at 7:30 p.m.

Mrs. Marzen was born Feb. 28, 1898, in rural Marble Rock to Carl and Angela (Hermann) Noss Sr.
She received her education at St. Patrick's Catholic School in Dougherty.

She married Frank Marzen on May 19, 1920, at St. Patrick's Chuch in Doughery.

She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Charles City, the Rosary Society and Madonna Circle. She was a former member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Roseville.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Laurence (Marcella) Koeningsfield, rural Marble Rock; and 20 grandchildren, 31 great-granchildren and one great-great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1955, a son, Kenneth, in 1977, 10 sisters, three brothers and two grandchildren.
