Willis Donald Billings

NORA SPRINGS, IOWA - Willis Donald Billings, 82, of 302 Sixth St. N.W., Nora Springs, died Thursday, July 11, 1996, at home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Nora Springs Christian Church, 102 N Hawkeye Ave., with the Rev Eldon Jandebeur officiating. Burial will be in Park Cemetery, Nora Springs. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Sheckler Colonial Chapel, 114 No. Hawkeye Ave., Nora Springs and one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.

Willis D. Billings, was born Aug. 8, 1913, in Nora Springs, son of George Willis and Ethel Mae (Lenhart)Billings.

Willis married Marjorie Krueger on Jan. 8, 1935, in Mason City.

Willis lived all of his life in Nora Springs. He worked for P.L. Hartwell for 20 years as a truck driver and then worked for 28 years for Armour until retiring in 1976.

He enjoyed fishing and was a avid sports fan.

He loved spending time with his family.

Willis was a member of Nora Springs Christian Church.

Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Billings of Nora Springs; nine children, Joan Bennett and her husband, Horace, of Pearson, Ga., Janet Gordon and her husband, Duane, of Camphill Pa.; Jean Eiland and her husband, John, of Hawthrone, Fla.; Ronald Billings and his wife, Dawn, of Nora Springs; Danny Billings and his wife Jane, of Mason City; Linda Billings and fiancee, Tom Green, of Britt; Barbara Johanns and her husband, Tom, of Mason city; Larry Billings and his wife, Cyndi, of New Haven, and Kim Billings and his wife, Tami, of Nora Springs; one sister, Ruth Clapp of Charles City, 29 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Coila Reams, Alta Bowen and Della Cooling, one brother, Ilo Billings and one daughter, Judith Diane Billings.
