BORN IN NORA SPRINGS, FLOYD COUNTY, IOWA

WATERLOO, IOWA - Bruce Duayn Paine, 66, of Waterloo, died Sunday, Aug. 6, 2006, at Allen Memorial Hospital.

He was born Nov. 14, 1939, in Nora Springs, the son of Elbertis and Fannie Hoag Paine. Bruce graduated from Nora Springs High School in 1958. He married Arlene Treloar in 1958. They moved to Waterloo in 1963 and farmed for five years. Bruce eventually bought his business in 1965, which was a full-service gas station. He went into the RV line in 1976. In 1998, Bruce moved to his new building and location at 190 Plaza Drive in Elk Run Heights.

He is survived by his wife, Arlene of Waterloo; three children, Becky (Bill) DeRocher, of Des Moines, Jeffrey (Rosanne), Paine, of LaPorte City, and Todd (Mary) Paine, of Waterloo; five grandsons, Travis, Bryce, Brandon, Cody and Casey; one great-granddaughter, Kyra; one sister, Bettie Anton, of Winthrop; and two brothers, Bilie Paine of Evansdale, and Barrie Paine, of Dillon, Colorado.

He is preceded in death by his parents and two siblings, Bonnie Smith and Bobbie Paine.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. today at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with burial in Poyner Township Cemetery.

Public visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 8, at Hargarty-Waychoff Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, with a 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation will also continue one hour prior to the services today at the church.

A memorial fund has been established in Bruce's name.
