RUTH O. KEITH

NORA SPRINGS- Mrs Ruth O. Keith, died Friday (May 31, 1985) at a Marshalltown medical center.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Christian Church, Nora Springs, with the Rev. Stephanie Boughton officiating. Burial will be in Spring Grove Cemetery, rural Nora Springs.

Visitation will be after 1 p.m. Sunday at Hogan-Bremer-Sheckler Colonial Chapel, Nora Springs. The family requests memorials be made to the Christian Church, Nora Springs.

Mrs Keith was born Aug. 18, 1908 in Kansas to Charles and Helen (Benedict) Gallup. She moved with her parents in Nora Springs and graduated in 1929 from Nora Springs High School. On April 15, 1931 she married John Keith in Mason City. Mrs Keith lived most of her life in Nora Springs and moved to Marshalltown in 1982 to be near her daughter.

She was a member of the Christian Church, Rebekah Lodge, Gray Ladies, American Legion Auxiliary and Royal Neighbors of American, all of Nora springs. She enjoyed volunteer work at the church and as a Gray Lady.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Norma Gallentine, Marshalltown; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs. Fern Billings and Mrs. Ruby Wilson, both of Nora Springs, Mrs. Eva Borchers and Mrs. Lucille Steepleton, both of Chico, Calf.; and Mrs. Mae Wilson, Clear Lake; and two brothers, Glen Gallup, Dearborn Mich., and LeRoy Gallup, Mason City.
