Funeral services for Norma Shaw, age 84, were held Saturday, April 20, 2002 at Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage. Rev. Mike Carey officiated. Interment was in the Orchard Cemetery

Norma Shaw died Thursday, April 18 at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center-Hospice Unit in Osage.

Norma was born on November 18, 1917 at Nora Springs, Iowa, the daughter of Harry and Lila (Dean) Hedden. She graduated from Nora Springs High School. Norma was united in marriage to Glen Shaw on Jan. 13, 1940 in Nora Springs. They resided in Mitchell and Floyd Counties and lived in Orchard for over 40 years. She liked reading, fishing, camping, traveling and gardening.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Glen in 1997; one daughter Dorothy Davison; two brothers, Glenn Hedden and Lyle Hedden; one sister Nona Halama; one grandson Scott Hewitt.

Survivors include three daughters, Betty Starr and husband Herb of Clear Lake, June Edwards and husband Roger of Cedar Rapids, Barbara Jeffries and husband Leo of Osage; three sons, Harley Shaw and his wife Joyce of Orchard, Howard Shaw and his wife Sharon of Osage and Richard Shaw of Orchard; one son-in-law James Davison of Minneapolis, MN; 27 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; two sisters, Neva Johnson of Dunkerton and Nina Eyster of Des Moines.

Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home of Osage was in charge of arrangements.

NORMA SHAW

ORCHARD, IOWA - Norma Shaw, 84, of Orchard, died Thursday (April 18, 2002) at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center-Hospice Unit in Osage.

Norma was born Nov. 18, 1917, at Nora Springs, the daughter of Harry and Lila (Dean) Hedden. She graduated from Nora Springs High School.

Norma was united in marriage to Glen Shaw on January 13, 1940, in Nora Springs. They lived in Mitchell and Floyd Counties, and lived in Orchard for more than 40 years.

She enjoyed reading, fishing, camping, traveling and gardening.

Her funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage, with the Rev. Mike Carey officiating. Interment will be at the Orchard Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home in Osage.

She is survived by three daughters, Betty Starr and husband, Herb, of Clear Lake, June Edwards and husband, Roger, of Cedar Rapids, and Barbara Jeffries and husband, Leo, of Osage; three sons, Harley Shaw and his wife, Joyce, of Orchard, Howard Shaw and his wife, Sharon, of Osage, and Richard Shaw, of Orchard; one son-in-law, James Davison, of Minneapolis; 27 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; two sisters, Neva Johnson of Dunkerton, and Nina Eyster, of Des Moines.
