Paul F. Gerhard, 92, of Heritage Manor, died at 4:15 a.m. on Sunday, October 11, 2009, at Heritage Manor.

There will be no public visitation or services. Comittal services will be at noon Thursday, Oct. 15, at Rosehill Cemetery in Greene with Pastor Hatcher officiating.

Paul was born on June 17, 1917 in Greene, the son of George and Elsie (Paske) Gerhard. He served in the US Army during World War II. He worked for John Deere and Co. in Waterloo for 30 years.

An avid Chicago Cub fan and Iowa Hawkeye fan, Paul was a kind man who was liked by all who knew him.

He is survived by nieces and nephews: Joan Gardner, Galen Gerhard, JR., John Gerhard, Patricia Megar, Russell Gerhard, many great nieces, nephews and cousins and special friends JoAnn and Jeff Dillon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Frank, Hilton, Delbert, Allen, Lynn and Galen; and sisters Adalis, Neva and Nova.
