CHARLES CITY, IOWA - Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 P,M, at the Hauser Funeral Home for Lee J. Chestek, age 80. He died Saturday afternoon at the Cedar Valley Hospital. He had been in ill health several years. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
A resident of Charles City since 1943, he moved here from a farm north of Bassett. He was a member of the First Congregational Church here.
A son, Leland, died with three other companions August 21 in a plane accident while on a fishing trip.
Survivors include his wife, Florence, two sons and two daughters; Mrs. V.F. Moltz, Charles City; Mrs. Virgil Helgen, Morton, Illinois, Bud Chestek, Charles City, and Robert Chestek, Minneapolis; 14 grandchildren and six great grandchildren, a brother and a sister, Mrs. Carl Ebert, Osage, and Harlan Chestek, Wichita, Kansas.
Besides his son, Leland, he was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.
He was born November 6, 1879 in Chickasaw County, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Chestek.
He married Florence Tibbits, July 21, 1907 at Calmar.
