CHARLES CITY, IOWA — Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p. m. at St. John Lutheran Church for Marie Dorothea Manning, 82, who died Wednesday at the Welcome Haven Rest Home. Death was attributed to complications due to advanced age. The Rev. Werner A. Bischoff, pastor, will officiate and burial will be in Riverside Cemetery with the Grossmann Funeral Home in charge.

Mrs. Manning was born in Niles Township; on September 30, 1874, the daughter of Henry and Dorothea Meyer Hillmer. She received her education in the Niles Township rural schools.

On October 24, 1911, in Floyd County, she was married to Herman Manning. She was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church, and had resided at 205 Clark Street since 1911.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Marvin Howe, Charles City; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill and Herman, two sisters, Emma and Alvina and her husband.
