Funeral services were held Friday, April 22, 1988 at United Methodist Church, Rudd, Iowa, for Mrs. Lania K. McDowell, 87, of Rudd. She died Tuesday, April 19, 1988 at the Nora Springs Care Center, Nora Springs, Floyd county, Iowa. The Pastor Sheridan Nallott officiated and burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Rudd.

She was born January 3, 1901 in Taopi, Minnesota, the daughter of Fred and Katherine (Brunce) Rothenburger.

She married Harold McDowell on April 30, 1921 in Austin, Minnesota. They lived and farmed near LeRoy, Minnesota, then later moved to the Osage and Lime Springs areas and farmed. In 1966 she moved to Rudd.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Dorcas Circle and Rudd Senior Citizens.

Her parents; her husband and one son preceded her in death.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Ernie (Helen) Wood of Rudd; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
