T. G. Stayner rites Wednesday at Charles City

CHARLES CITY – Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 P.M. at the Covenant Evangelical Mission Church for Thomas Grover Stayner, 72. A resident of Charles City since 1942, he died Sunday in the Ced Valley Hospital, where he had been a patient since January 15. Death was attributed to a cerebral hemorrhage. Burial will be in Waltham Cemetery near Waltham, Minnesota. The Gorssman-Hage Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Born in Franklin County, July 3, 1887, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Stayner. On August 25, 1908, he was married to Nellie Knapp in Franklin County. He was a retired farmer and had been manager of a parts department in an implement store in Adams, Minnesota prior to coming to Charles City.

He is survived by three sons, Raymond, rural Rockford; Woodrow, Charles City; and H. Thomas Stayner, Cedar Rapids; and five daughters, Mrs. Theodore Knutson, Mrs. George Grovedahl, both of Sargeant, Minnesota; Mrs. Ferdinel Berge, Dexter, Minnesota; Mrs. Raymond Wulf, Rockford; and Mrs. Ford K. Cunningham, Waterford, Ohio; 25 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Minnie page, Long Beach, California.
