Charles City Woman Dies At Age 104

CHARLES CITY, IOWA - Funeral services were being planned Thursday for Mrs. Bertha Nickel who died Wednesday at the age of 104. She died at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Fred Krumrey of rural Charles City.

Mrs. Nickel was 104 on March 15. She came to the United States in 1892 from Germany and settled with her husband and four children in Charles City.

Mr. Nickel died in 1924. A son, Dr. F.W. Nickel of Winter Park, Fla., died in 1957.

Surviving are three daughters: Mrs. Krumrey, Mrs. John Martens, and Mrs. Albert Wolff, all of Charles City.
