James Barber

CHARLES CITY, IOWA -- James Barber, 75, of Charles City, died Monday (June 12, 1995) at North Iowa Mercy Health Center East, Mason City. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church, Charles City, with the Rev. Robin Stoops officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. at Oakwood Cemetery, Austin, Minn. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. today at Hauser Funeral Home, 1205 S. Main St., and one hour prior to services on Thursday at the church.

James Halman Barber was born Sept. 2, 1919, at Gordonsville, Minn.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Barber of Charles City; a daughter, Lynda Bucknell of Thornton; two brothers, Lloyd Barber of Dodge Center, Minn., and David Barber of Blooming Prairie, Minn.; five sisters, Carol Oakland of Glenville, Minn.; Ethel Hoffman of Blooming Prairie, Minn.; Laura Raymon of Hollandale, Minn.; Shirley Giles of Albert Lea, Minn., and Mae Schneider of Blooming Prairie, Minn.; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one stepson, two sisters and one brother in infancy.
