CHARLES CITY, IOWA -- Funeral services were held Wednesday at 9 a. m. at St. Mary's Catholic church at Roseville, for Mrs. Barbara Staudt, 94, who died at her farm home near Roseville Monday afternoon. The Rev. P. W. Kirchoff officiated and burial was in St. Mary's cemetery at Roseville.

Mrs. Staudt had been bedfast for the past 2 years. Born in Pettingham, Germany, October 5, 1855. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Merfeld.

She came to the United States with her parents when she was 18 years of age.

In 1880, she was married to John Staudt. Mrs. Staudt had lived on the farm where she died since her marriage. Mr. Staudt died in June, 1935.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Mary Loye and Mrs. Helen O'Connor, both of Charles City; and four sons: Pete, John, Charles and Joe Staudt, all of near Roseville; a brother, John J. Merfeld, Greene; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to Mr. Staudt, three children: Lawrence, Anna and Nick; two brothers; and a sister preceded her in death.
