CHARLES CITY, IOWA -- Theresa J. Kuhn, 69, Charles City, died Friday, April 12, 1996, at her home.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Highway 18 and Clark St. with Monsignor Stanley J. Hayek, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, and Father Brian Shepley, St. Mary's Catholic Church, Iowa City, officiating. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery, Charles City.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Fullerton Hage Funeral Home, 401 Blunt St. The St. Francis Circle will recite the rosary at 3 p.m. A scripture service by the Sisters Of The Presentation will take place at 5 p.m. There will be a Parish Vigil Scripture Service at 7 p.m. followed by the Lay Order of Carmelites Rosary. Visitation will continue one hour prior to servces at the church on Tuesday.
Theresa Josephine Schmelzer was born Oct. 1, 1926 in West Union.
Survivors include seven children; Stephen Kuhn and his wife, Carol of Indianola, Thomas Kuhn and his wife, Glenda of Forest City, Kathleen Heying-Klocke and her husband, Frank of Elkhart, Ind., Robert Kuhn and his wife, Tamara of Newton, Christopher Kuhn and his wife, Nancy of Des Moines, Alois Kuhn and his wife, Gloria of Cedar Rapids, and Lisa Fritz and her husband, Greg of Coon Rapids, Minn.; five brothers, John Schmelzer of Hammond, Wis., Raymond Schmelzer of Postville, Joseph Schmelzer of Appleton, Wis., Ed Schmelzer of Fulton, Mo. and Alfred Schmelzer of Waterloo; five sisters, Sister Gertrude Schmelzer and Sister Christine Schmelzer, both of the Sisters Of The Presentation, Dubuque, Mary Agnes Schmelzer of Waterloo, Angela Bagge of Independence, and Dorthy Novak of Waterloo; and 18 grandchildren.
