Gertrude R. Biddick

ROCKFORD, IOWA — Longtime Rockford resident, Gertrude R. Biddick, age 97, died on Tuesday, May 14, 1985 at a Charles City care center.

Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church here, with Pastor William Green officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Rockford.

She was born on December 25, 1887 at Egan, South Dakota, the daughter of Sanford R. and Ada E. (Cleary) Moore. She came to the Cerro Gordo and Floyd county areas in 1886. On June 2, 1915, she married Franklin J. Biddick at Rockford.

Mrs. Biddick was a member of the United Methodist Church for over 75 years, and was a member of the United Methodist Women and the Rockford Women's Club. For over 13 years she was the night operator for the Farmers Mutual Telephone Company in Rockford.

Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Thursday at the Schumburg Funeral Home, Rockford.

Survivors include two sons, F. Max of Mason City and Donald M., Nashua; four grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
