Harold Alfred Draheim

MASON CITY, IOWA - Harold Alfred Draheim, 88, of 19343 A. 220th Street, died on Friday, May 9, 1997, at home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Hogan Bremer Colonial Chapel, 126 Third Street N.E., with the Rev. Ken Hatland of Trinity Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood St. Joseph Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 3 to 5 p.m., today at the funeral chapel, and will continue one hour prior to the service at the chapel on Monday. Memorials may be made to Hospice of North Iowa, in memory of Harold A. Draheim.

Harold Alfred Draheim was born on July 13, 1908, in Charles City, Floyd county, Iowa, the son of Carl and Nellie (Nixon) Draheim. He married Margaret Andersen on July 27, 1940, at the Little Brown Church, Nashua.

Harold grew up in Charles City and graduated from Charles City Highs School. he worked as a cabinet maker at Mason City Millwork for 42 years until retiring in 1972. Harold enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and spending time outdoors. He loved woodworking.

Survivors include, his wife, Margaret Draheim of Mason City; one daughter, Mary Postma and her husband Dick of Marion; two sons, William Draheim and his wife Karen of Nora Springs, and Thomas Draheim and his wife Sandy of Rockwell; seven grandchildren, Matthew Postma of Mason City, Ann Day and her husband Corey of Iowa City, Paige Friederick and her husband Bart of Cedar Rapids, Megan Postma of Marion, Jeffrey Draheim and his wife Erin of Bloomington, Minn., Jayson Draheim of Nora Springs, and Sue Ann Nelson and her husband Tyler of Clear Lake; three great-grandchildren, Jordan Postma of Marion, and Sam and Lacey Wildes, both of Bloomington, Minn.; and one sister, Zola Malamen and her husband Paul of Elk River, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
